Madhesh Province Assembly Meeting postponed for 10 minutes

Kathmandu: The meeting of the Madhesh Province Assembly has been postponed for 10 minutes.

The meeting was postponed due to the absence of the Chief Minister and Ministers. The meeting which was called for 3: 00 p.m. on Wednesday began about an hour late. However, Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav and his Cabinet Members were not present in the meeting.

After the meeting began Nepali Congress (NC) Member of Parliament (MP) Birendra Singh remained the rules. ‘ The presence of the government in the provincial assembly meeting must be mandatory according to paragraph 3 of rule 6 of sub-rule 6 of the provincial assembly operating rules 2075.  However, the government was not present in today’s meeting. Therefore I demand to postpone the meeting’ said Singh.

After that Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal postponed the meeting for 10 minutes. There was a secluded of Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav to take a vote of confidence on Wednesday. But no process was seen to take a vote of confidence.

Chief Minister Yadav registered the letter of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to postpone the meeting of the provincial assembly. In the letter it was mentioned that due to ill health, he was unable to take a vote of confidence and asked to be held on 10 June (Jeshta 28). Speaker Mandal after the discussion, began the meeting due to the fixed date.
