Police preparing to arrest officials for issuing citizenship of descendants to Sirohiya

Kathmandu: Nepal Police has begun the procedures to investigate the two employees, who issued citizenship to Kantipur Publications Kailash Sirohiya.

The preparations are going on to arrest the Chief District Officer (CDO) Sarad Kumar Bhattarai and Branch Officer Kashiraj Dahal, who issued citizenship to Sirohiya.

Police attained permission to arrest them for the investigation of the Sirohiya’s citizenship. They received an arrest warrant from the District Court Dhanusa to arrest the employees for issuing descendants.

Sirohiya received citizenship from the District Administration Office in 2034 B.S. Sirohiya’s father Late Ghasi Ram Marwadi was issued citizenship. However, the investigation found that Kailash Sirohiya was issued the citizenship of the descendants.

CDO Bhattarai issued the original citizenship of descendants to Sirohiya. And Branch Officer Dahal issued a duplicate copy of the citizenship to Sirohiya.

According to the police source, the court issued the arrest warrant to investigate both employees by keeping them in custody.

The arrested Sirohiya was released upon the condition of appearing before the police when summoned on Wednesday.
