Kathmandu: The Ubhauli festival has been celebrated across the nation. Kirat Community celebrates the festival on a grand scale.
They celebrate Ubhauli on Baishak Purnima and Udhauli on Mangsir Purnima. Kirat Community celebrated Ubhauli on Baishak, to mark the migration phase upwards into the hilly regions due to the increased heat.
Likewise, celebrated Udauli on Mangsir , to mark the migration from the hilly region to the lower region due to cold season. Ubhauli is the main festival of Sunuwar, Rai, Limbu, and Yakha of Kirat Community. They celebrate the festival by worshipping the land so that their crops can grow well in the field along to avoid calamities.
Kirat Community performs the SakelaSewa dance. Limbu and Yakha worship nature by dancing Chabrung dance. It is said to be believed the festival of Kirat has been in vogue since the beginning of the agricultural era on the earth.

Kirat Community celebrated the festival by participating Kirat Land Puja site located at Yagyadol (Jagdol) Forest in Gorkarneshwor Municipality-4 forest on Thursday.
They celebrated the festival in the presence of the Chairperson of the Finance Committee of the Legislature-Parliament, Santosh Chalise and Gorkarneshwor Municipality Mayor Deepak Kumar Risal and others
