Upendra Yadav: Sirohiya’s arrest is vengeful

Kathmandu: Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal (JSPN)  has expressed its opinion regarding the arrest of Kantipur Media House Chairperson Kailash Sirohiya.

JSPN Chairperson Upendra Yadav issued a press release saying that Sirohiya was arrested by prejudice and vengeful way. Yadav urges the immediate release of Sirohiya.

‘It is very unfortunate to be arrested for publishing fair news against political corruption. The malpractice of misusing state mechanism to terrorize the media sector must be stopped. And he should be released immediately. The government is warned not to repeat such prejudicial incidents in the coming days, ‘states the JSPN press release.

Likewise, Yadav said that attacking the Kantipur Media House is attacking democracy, freedom of the press, and freedom of expression.
