Wreckage of Iranian President Raisi’s helicopter located; No sign of life

Kathmandu: The search team has located the wreckage site of the helicopter, which was carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

According to Reuters, the helicopter was found in a burned state with no sign of life. One of the Iranian officials said that they feared all the passengers onboard to be dead.

There were reports of President Raisi’s helicopter making a ‘hard landing’ on Sunday. The accident happened in the mountainous protected forest area of Dizmar near the town of Varzaghan, said the official IRNA news agency.

President Raisi (63 years old) was visiting the province Sunday where he inaugurated a dam project together with his Azeri counterpart, Ilham Aliev, on the border between the two countries.
