Police arrest person for scamming more than 40 million from 124 people

Kathmandu: Police have arrested 1 person in charge of scamming more than 40 million (4 crores) rupees, by luring people to send to Turkey, for employment.

Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation made Binod Shrestha (42 years old) public on Monday. Binod is a resident of the Pokhara Metropolitan City Kaski.

Binod was absconding after scamming 40 million (4 crores) rupees 35 lakh rupees from 124 people, including Min Bahadur Karki, for arranging employment in Turkey’s companies.

Likewise, Police arrested Shrestha from Chabahil, after the victims filed a complaint against him. Shrestha took 50 thousand rupees from the victims by contacting them.

He dropped Min Bahadur and the other 4 in Delhi, India, then collected 3 lakh rupees from each of them. Shrestha won their confidence by contacting the agent in India. He absconded after keeping 4 victims inside the hotel room

Bahadur and the other three returned to Nepal after Shreshta didn’t come to Nepal even after staying in a hotel for 15 days. Victims filed a complaint against Shrestha to the Police. Police said the investigation is going on Shrestha.
