PM Dahal: There will be no obstruction while presenting policy and program

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the policy and programs for the upcoming fiscal year would be presented without any obstruction.

The preparations are going on for the Joint Session of the Federal Parliament, scheduled on 14th May, in which President Ram Chandra Paudel will be presenting the policy and programs of the upcoming fiscal year.

The major opposition party Nepali Congress has been demanding the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to investigate the involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud scandal.

NC obstructed the parliamentary session on the first day demanding the formation of a high probe committee to investigate the case. NC leaders have been taking the stand to continue the obstruction unless the formation of the committee.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said he had a serious discussion with the NC leaders including, President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday morning. He said the environment, to smoothen the presentation of the policy and program of the government, will be created by Monday evening.

‘I have seriously discussed with the major opposition party today. Although the discussion did not conclude, what I believe is we will conclude,  to create an environment to move forward with policy and program smoothly, by tomorrow evening, ‘ said PM Dahal while addressing a program in Rastriya Sabha Griha on Sunday.

NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak, after a meeting with PM Dahal, said PM Dahal was also optimistic regarding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the Deputy Prime Minsiter Lamichhane.
