Kathmandu: Police have arrested 2 people in more than 20 million (2 crores) rupees fraud case.
Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office made them public on Friday. The culprits committed a fraud of more than 20 million rupees by misusing citizenship and luring people to be sent to Japan.
Rajan Shrestha, resident of Likhu Tamakoshi, Ramechhap; currently residing in Kageshowri, Kathmandu, and Ishwari Pandey Gouradah, from Jhapa were arrested. Police said that they scammed 219 people by luring them for employment in Japan They used to make people open bank accounts under a fake name.
Likewise, it has been found they scammed people by registering an Education Consultancy entitled “Nyoni Education Consultancy”. They misused Narayan Bahadur Rai’s citizenship.
Police said that the culprits used to scam people by charging between 0.4 million (4 lakh) rupees to 0.7 million (7 lakhs) rupees for job opportunities in Japan.
