Kathmandu: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has decided not to step down on its demand to form a parliamentary committee.
The NC Official meeting held on Monday decided not to step down, from its demands to form a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa said the meeting of current and former officials held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence, decided to make the party’s demand of forming parliamentary election committee as the party’s “bottom line.”
Likewise, GS Thapa said that the meeting decided to discuss the modality of the parliamentary inquiry committee and countermeasure the reply of the ruling party of not forming the committee. He said there is unity in the party regarding the demand of the parliamentary inquiry committee.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire has also called top leaders of main party to discuss about the NC’s demands.
