Gandaki Chief Minister Pandey resigns

Kathmandu: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has resigned.

Pandey submitted a resignation letter to Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta on Wednesday. After the CPN(Maoist Centre) withdrew its support on 6 March (Falgun 23), Pandey needed to take a vote of confidence by 4 April (Chaitra 22).

However, Chief Minister Pandey resigned, after seeing that he would not get a vote of confidence. Now, the Chief Minister will be elected from the ruling coalition.
