Kathmandu: Parliament’s International Relation and Tourism Committee has directed Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to submit a clear answer within 15 days, regarding the details of the purchase process of narrow-body aircraft.
The meeting of the committee, held on Monday, directed NAC to submit a clear answer, to make the committee believe that there was no corruption in the purchase process of narrow-body aircraft.
Committee Chairperson Raj Kishore Yadav said that a Sub Committee would be formed to investigate the matter of narrow-body aircraft and even directed to submit all the purchase procedures and agreements of the narrow-body aircraft.
Likewise, Chairperson Yadav gave a warning that if the committee couldn’t be convinced that corruption occurred due to circumstantial reasons, they would be forced to take further action. He said that it was necessary to make sure there was no mischief in the procurement process.
He said that the Civil Aviation Authority and Nepal Airlines Corporation must come together to remove Nepal from the backlist of the European Union.
