Mahara released on date of attendance

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been released on the date of attendance.

Government Attorney Office Kathmandu’s District Attorney Khadindraraj Katuwal gave the orders to release Mahara on the date of attendance on Friday.

CIB gave the responsibilities of Mahara to his son Nirmal. CIB released Mahara on the date of attendance, due to his deteriorating health condition.

Likewise, CIB took Mahara’s statement for two days. An investigation officer said that Mahara’s health condition was critical while recording the statement.

Preparation to release Mahara on date of attendance

Mahara was arrested from Pakadi, Kapilvastu on 18 March (Chaitra, 5).

An investigation has been started on Mahara on the allegation that his name was connected with a Chinese, who was involved in the 61 kg Gold smuggling case, hidden in brake shoes, on 18 July 2022 (Shrawan 2, 2079) and 9 kg of Gold hidden in (Electronic Cigarette) Vape on December 2022 (Poush,2079).
