Kathmandu: The government will not form a parliamentary committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
Publicizing the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting, it concluded that the government committee is not necessary.
Announcing the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting, Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said,’ Investigation going on through forming various working groups on cooperatives. Therefore there is no need to investigate Home Minister Lamichanne.’
She said that PM Dahal has already given a reply on those matters in the parliament and the government doesn’t find the need for investigation by forming a parliamentary committee.
‘After this government was formed we have not spared anyone high profile person, as they have been punished. It is the government’s opinion that if the mistake is considered a weakness, it should not be raised based on political demands. Even if the opposition said they had proof after the PM’s reply, it doesn’t mean that an investigation committee should be formed based on that,’ said Minister Sharma.
Similarly, she said that the investigation so far has shown no involvement of Home Minister Lamichhane, However, if found guilty based on basic evidence tomorrow, then he must face legal terms.
