Kathmandu: The Home Ministry has issued 21-point directions to the Chief District Officer (CDO)s of 77 districts.
Home Ministry issued 21-point directions regarding decently using social media effectively and controlling cybercrime. Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane directed to play an active role in the matters of peace, security, service delivery, good governance, regulation, coordination, and facilitation.
Likewise, all chief district officers have been directed to maintain peace and security and to control crime. The direction also includes the preparation of a 3-month short-term action plan for eliminating the illegal activities in the districts with the help of subordinate units.
Similarly, the direction includes identification of the places with active crime scenes, and increasing security and patrolling in those areas. And the directions for controlling cybercrime and decently use of social media.
Assigning 1-1 officer-level staff from the District Police Office and District Administration Office to control the spread of unrestrained, baseless, misleading messages through social media which are provoking ethnic and cultural harmony, and national unity and interfering privacy rights of individuals.
