Fire destroys 2 houses in Meringden; Loss of valuables worth Rs. 1.5 million

Kathmandu: Two houses have been destroyed in a fire incident in Meringden, Taplejung.
The accident occurred on Tuesday. According to Taplejung Police, properties worth Rs 1.5 million were destroyed in the fire that engulfed the houses of Harka Bahadur Paluwa and Subas Nalbu.
The fire ruined cash, food, and clothes inside the houses. Two sheds close to the houses were also turned into ashes. Some forests of the district have also caught fire.
At least seven houses were gutted in the last seven days in the district, the office informed.
