Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has replied that there was no involvement of Deputy Home Minister and Home Minster Rabi Lamichhane in cooperative embezlement scam.
Addressing the ongoing parliament on Tuesday, PM Dahal replied on those questions raised by MPs in the parliament.
PM Dahal said, ‘According to the investigation so far, he is not involved neither as cooperative directors, accounting committee, credit committee nor in any other roles and even not connected to the pending cases. Hence, there is basis for confirmation of his involvement.’
Likewise, he further added, ‘No one’s name was mentioned in the complaint made by more than 1000s depositers of Surya Darshan Cooperative, Pokhara on 7 August, 2023 ( Shrawan22, 2080. Based on the report submitted by the police, a case has been filed claimingt 19 people as defendants, who embezzled the funds of cooperative. The case is under consideration. Among 19, 4 have been arrested. The search operation of the remaining people is going on.’
PM Dahal clarified that noone could stop him to take action if Lamichhane was found guilty. He also said that it would be undemocratic to demand Lamichhane’s resignation based on the allegation.
‘NC is on long democratic exercise. But what will happen if resignation was demanded based on allegation?’ said PM Dahal.
