NSP Chairperson Dr. Bhattarai calls central executive meeting

Kathmandu:  Former Prime Minister and Nepal Samajbadi Party (NSP) Chairperson Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has called the party’s central executive committee meeting.

The meeting will be held in the party’s central office, Tinkune at noon. Dr. Bhattarai called the meeting after party leader Mahindra Raya Yadav agreed to unite with CPN(Maoist Center).  Along with Yadav leader Ganga Narayan Shrestha had announced the unity with CPN (Maoist Centre).

NSP was split after Yadav’s faction decided to bypass Dr. Bhattarai and take the NSP to the unity process with the CPN (Maoist Center).  NSP Chairperson Yadav faction and CPN (Maoist Center) signed a written agreement of unity between the two parties on Saturday.

With the agreement now the discussion has begun regarding the NSP official. Yadav’s party claimed that the official of NSP is under the leadership of Yadav and the decision to unite with the CPN(Maoist Centre) was made by the majority.

Dr. Bhattarai’s faction responded that Saturday’s agreement was not a matter of party unity, but rather some people went to CPN (Maoist Centre).
