Kathmandu: The identities of all 8 passengers, who died in a jeep accident at Bhojpur’s Dakishn Ghoretar, have been revealed.
Jeep met with an accident while heading to Bhojpur’s Dakshin Ghoretar from Dharan. According to the District Police Office, Bhojpur jeep no Ko 1Ja 2593 met an accident at Bakhakuwa, Belaka- 7, Udayapur at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
7 died on the spot, 1 during the treatment, and 9 were injured in the accident. Min Bahadur Basnet( driver) of Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality, Chandra Prakash Rai( Hatuwagadi -2), Ram Kumari Rai ( Hatuwagadi- 5), Padam Bahadur Thapa (Baraha Chettra -3), Dinesh Rai(Hatuwagadi -2), Kamala Adhikari( Itahari) and Parbat Maya Rai( Hatuwagadi -2) were the deceased ones. Kishan Rai (Hatuwagadi -5) died during treatment at B.P . Koirala Insitute of Health Science.
Likewise, the identity of injured people has also been identified. Bishesh Parajuli (Kanpokhari), Sabitra Rai, Minu Rai, Shanti Kala Rai, Sabina Pariyar, Gayatri Thapa Katuwal, Sushil Pariyar, Kulbung Rai and Nikita Katuwal were injured in the accident.
According to the Police’s preliminary prediction, the accident might have occurred by carrying more passengers than capacity on the downhill road. There were 14 passengers in the jeep.
