Nepal lost title of Friendship Cup against Hong Kong

Kathmandu: Nepal has lost the title of the Friendship Cup against Hong Kong.

Nepal lost the match against Hong Kong by 72 runs in the Mission Road Ground on Saturday. Nepal failed to chase the target of 213 runs. Hong Kong packed up Nepal in 16.4 overs in 139 runs.

Binod Bhandari scored 42 runs for Nepal. Aarif Sheikh contributed 38 and Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel 30 runs for the team. 6 players failed to score double-digit runs. Pratis G.C. was ducked out.

Aizaz Khan took 4 and Ehsan Khan 3 wickets for Hong Kong.

In the first innings, Nepal won the toss and decided to bowl first. Hong Kong scored 212 runs in 20 Overs with a loss of 6 wickets.

Babar Hayat scored his century for Hong Kong. He scored 110 runs out of 49 balls by smashing 3 boundaries and 13 sixes. Anshuman Rath scored 39 and Martin Coetzee 31 runs for the team.

Debutant Aakash Chand took 3 wickets for Nepal. Aarif Sheikh, Pratish GC, and Rashid Khan took 1 wicket each for Nepal.

Now, the Tri-Nation T20 series between Nepal, PNG, and Hong Kong will begin on Sunday. Nepal will compete against Hong Kong on 10th March. On 12th March, PNG will play two matches against Nepal and Hong Kong.

The final of the series will take place on 13th March. The top two teams in the league table will reach the finals. The third on will play T20 match with Hong Kong A.
