Nepal defeats Namibia by 3 runs; Possibility of reaching Final still alive

Kathmandu: Nepal has registered an interesting victory over Namibia in the third match of the Tri-Nation T20I series. Nepal defeated Namibia by 3 runs in T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

With this, the possibility of Nepal reaching the finals is still alive. Namibia failed to chase the target of 181 runs. Nepal succeeded in stopping Namibia in 177 runs. Namibia lost 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Namibia needed 12 runs in the last overs. But Karan K.C. took 1 wicket at the expense of 7 runs. JJ Smit contributed 50 runs for Namibia but was not enough for the victory. Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets each for Nepal. Abinash Bohora took 1 wicket for the team.

In the first innings, Nepal scored 180 runs with loss of 8 wickets. Kushal Malla was unbeaten at 55 runs. This helped Nepal to build a challenging score for Namibia.

Aarif Sheikh scored 31, Guldan Jha 26, Anil Shah 23, Dipendra Singh Airee 16, Rohit Kumar Paudel 10, and Karan KC 7 runs for the team. Ben Shikongo took 3 and Jack Brassell took 2 wickets for Namibia.

Adding 2 points after the victory, Nepal has climbed up the points table. Namibia slid down to the bottom and the Netherlands in the lead. Nepal will play against the Netherlands on Saturday.
