Madhav Kumar Nepal’s fear of breaking coalition due to NA Chairperson; Suggests PM to move ahead with agreement

Kathmandu: The ruling coalition party CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal has suggested Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ not to break the coalition.

Chairperson Nepal and other officials met PM Dahal in the Prime Minister’s Residence in Baluwatar on Thursday. He said, ‘Let’s not break the coalition, Let’s move ahead with coordination and agreement.’

Chairperson Nepal, relating to the context of the National Assembly Chairperson, questioned whether there would be any complications or not. He was concerned whether the claim of both the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) to the designation of the National Assembly Chairperson would create any problem or not.

One of the leaders, quoting Chairperson Nepal, said, ‘It would not be pleasing if there will be a problem in the coalition due to the NA Chairperson. Let’s move forward with unity.’

PM Dahal said that CPN (Maoists) needed to be the Chairperson of the National Assembly as the participation of the party would be nil in the Constitutional Council in case of a change of Prime Minister.

Later, Chairperson Nepal said that there must be an agreement not to harm the coalition irrespective of whoever claims the designation of National Assembly Chairperson. Both the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) have claimed the designation of NA Chairperson.
