Identitarians have been demanding the dismissal of the name ‘Koshi’ and renaming it according to the concept of federalism with identity.

Kathmandu: Identitarians have celebrated 29 February (Falgun 17) as Black Day.

One year back, Province 1 was named Koshi. Based on the context of identity, Identitarians celebrated the day as ‘Black Day’ on Thursday.

Province 1 was named Koshi on 1 March 2023 (Falgun,17, 2079). Identitarians celebrated Black Day by demonstrating in Koteshwor.

Demonstrators used black cloth with slogans like ‘Our identity is our soul’, ‘No Koshi’, and ‘Dismiss the name Koshi.’ Identitarians have been demanding the dismissal of the name ‘Koshi’ and renaming it according to the concept of federalism with identity.
