Nepal finishes series with only 1 victory; lost match against Netherlands by 8 wickets

Kathmandu: The national cricket team of Nepal has lost the match against Netherlands in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

Nepal lost the match against the Netherlands by 8 wickets in the T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

With this, Nepal has ended the first series of League 2, against Netherlands and Namibia,  with one victory. Nepal lost two matches against Namibia and one against the Netherlands. Nepal defeated the Netherlands in its second match.

Nepal has reached the third place in the points table after the completion of the match. Namibia. Winning 3 matches out of 4, Namibia is at the top of the table. Defeating Nepal, the Netherlands has climbed up the table and reached second place.

Netherlands completed the target of 173 runs in 37.5 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. Bikramjit Singh and Sybrand Engelbrecht were unbeaten at 58 and 46 runs for the team. Dipendra Singh Airee and Lalit Rajbanshi took 1 wicket each for Nepal.

Nepal was packed up in 49.3 overs and scored 172 runs. Kushal Bhurtel completed his eighth ODI half-century for Nepal. He scored 66 runs out of 93 balls smashing 8 boundaries.

Karan KC scored 26, Aarif Sheikh 22, Aasif Sheikh 17, and Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel 16 runs for the team. Anil Sah scored 7, Gulsan Jha 5, Kushal Malla 2, and Dipendra Singh Airee 1, for the team. Bhim Sharki was ducked out. Lalit Rajbanshi was not out at zero.

Vivian Kingma and Aryan Dutt took 3 wickets each for the Netherlands. Bas de Leede took 2 and Roelef van der Merwe took 1 wicket for the team.
