26-day infant stolen incident: Case registered against Man Kumari Singh

Kathmandu: Police have prosecuted a case of kidnapping and hostage against an infant thief woman.

Police prosecuted a case against an infant thief woman, who stole an infant from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Thapathali on Friday.

Kathmandu’s SSP Bhupendra Khatri, has decided to prosecute Mankumari Singh, a resident of Kadaghari, Naumale Rural Municipality, Dailekh.

According to the Civil Offenses (Code) Act, 2074, the police have arranged for Singh to be imprisoned for 7 years to 10 years and filed a charge sheet against Singh with the public prosecutor’s office for the case related to kidnapping or hostage.

Likewise, Police arrested Singh from Kadaghari’s rental house at 11:00 p.m. on Friday. Singh had stolen an infant at 11:00 a.m. on the same day.

She stole a 26-day infant of Sabina Shrestha (22 years old) of Chaurideurali, Rural Miuncipaltiy-3Kavre, who currently resides in Kapan.
