Curfew imposed in Birgunj

Kathmandu: District Administration, Parsa has imposed a curfew in the Birgunj Metropolitan area.

District Administration, Parsa issued a notice to impose a curfew from 5:00 p.m. until further notice.  According to Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, Chief District Officer, Parsa, a notice issued mentioned that a curfew order was imposed due to the conflict/clashes during the demonstration of Hindu Samaj.

Hindu Samaj closed down the market in Birgunj Metropolitan City on Monday, as a demonstration against the Rautahat incident. There was a dispute between 2 groups regarding the idol immersion of Goddess Saraswati in Ishnath Municipality on Saturday.

Likewise, the administration imposed a curfew to take the situation under control due to the increasing disputes in different places.

According to the notice, the curfew has been imposed in Nagwa Chowk (to the East), Tilawe Bridge (West), Parwanipur Parsa (North), and Miteri Bridge (South) and activities like walking, holding processions, encircling, gathering, etc will be prohibited.
