NPC recommends budget of 18 trillion rupees for upcoming fiscal year

Kathmandu: The National Planning Commission (NPC) has recommended to a bring a budget of 18 trillion (18 karba) rupees for the upcoming fiscal year.

Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the resource committee under the leadership of the Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission has set a budget of 18 trillion rupees.

Minister Dr. Mahat addressing a press conference to inform about the budget and budget amendment, on Friday, said that the commission recommended increasing the budget by only about 50 billion( 50 arba), in comparison to the current fiscal year, due to lack of expected foreign aid.

The government announced a budget of 17 trillion ( 17 kharab) and 51 billion ( 51 arba) rupees for the current fiscal year.
