Kathmandu: The 16th edition of the World Social Forum program has begun in Bhrikutimandap.
This year WSF slogan is ‘Another World is Possible’ which started on Thursday (15 February) Falgun 3 and will last till 19 February (Falgun 7).
On the first day inauguration of WSF, a rally was held in the form of protest and displaying the different countries’ cultures. The organizer said that famous people around the world had been invited as guest speakers, who have contributed their part in various social movements.
Labor, Farmers, Women, Dalit, Youth, Handicapped, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and People from marginalized communities will be addressing the program. A total of 1165 organizations from 19 countries have registered their participation in the program. Among them, the Intercontinental Youth Forum will be held on 17 February ( Falgun 5).
Organizers said that each program would begin with thematic plenary sessions and would conclude with parallel sessions, assembly conferences, and cultural programs.
