Kathmandu: The Kathmandu University (KU) will host the International Vice Chancellor Meet on Thursday. KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Bhola Thapa said the three-day conclave, one of its kind in the academic history of the country, aims to internationalize the country’s higher education and expand the University’s ties at the international level.
According to Vice Chancellor Thapa, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and KU’s management have organized the North Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet 2024 & Bharat-Nepal Higher Education Summit. The university vice-chancellors of 150 countries, including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Thailand, will attend the meeting.
Likewise, Vice Chancellor Thapa said the conference will hold discussions on the global contemporary issues in higher education, internationalization of higher education, inter-university collaboration, and world higher education policy, among other topics. He also added that 227 people have confirmed their participation in the Meet.
Most of the delegates will be from India and there will also be representatives from universities from the South East Asia region, Europe and Africa.
