Kathmandu: 3 accused, including businessman Arun Chaudhary, have been released. They were arrested in the case of Bansbari land embezzlement.
After the order of the Kathmandu District Court Order, the Central Investigation Bureau( CIB) released them on Wednesday. Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa, Executive Chairperson Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory, and Sanjaya Thakur, CG Chandbagh Residency Pvt. Ltd Manager were released along with Chaudhary.
A single bench of Kathmandu District Court judge Yagya Prasad Acharya issued an order to CIB to release them on bail on Monday, where Judge Acharya ordered to release them on the date of attendance. However, said to carry out the remaining investigation.
According to section 14(6) of the Civil Criminal Procedure Code 2074, the court gave the order and held that the defendant should be detained for 25 days along investigation.
CIB had arrested Kumar Chaudhary, then owner of Champion Footwear Pvt. Ltd, Singh Thapa, Chairperson of Bansbari Shoe Leather Factory and CG Chandabagh Residency Pvt.Ltd Chairperson Thakur in case of land embezzlement on 1 February (Magh 18).
After establishing Champion Footwear in the compound of Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory, the Chaudhary group bought 10 acres of land in the name of Champion Footwear and currently running a Chandbagh School.
