Kathmandu Valley Police installs 181 AI-based CCTVs in Budhanilkantha

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Valley Police Office has extended its presence to the Budhanilkantha area.

Office initiates that campaign is based upon ‘Safe Kathmandu: Our Commitment’, where 181 AI-based CCTVs have been installed. The installation of these cameras was a joint effort between the Police Office and the Budhanilkantha Municipality on Sunday.

The service was launched to enable the direct monitoring of activities in the area by the office from its control room. The project, which cost Rs 50 million, was agreed upon in April. According to Senior Superintendent of Police and Office Spokesperson Dinesh Raj Mainali, the CCTVs have been placed along the Budhanilkantha, Man Bahadur-Chunikhel, and Kapan routes.

Similarly, Budhanilkantha Municipality mayor Mitharam Adhikari emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the Office and the local government to enhance peace, order, and reduce crime rates in the town.
