CIB arrests Arun Chaudhary in Bansbari Leather and Shoe factory embezzlement case

Kathmandu: Central Bureau of Police (CIB) has arrested businessman Arun Chaudhary. CIB arrested Chaudhary in the Bansbari Leather and Shoe factory embezzlement case. Chaudhary is the Chairperson of the C.G. Holdings.

CIB also arrested the then Chairperson of the factory Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa. CIB Chief AIG Kiran Bajracharya said they arrested Arun Chaudhary from the Lazimpat area. He is in the custody of CIB. The Chaudhary Group illegally privatized 10 ropanies of government land of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory.

The land is in the name of Chandbag Residency Pvt. Ltd. The Residency is in the name of Arun and his wife Shila Chaudhary. A complaint has been filed against Arun in the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). But, CIB took the charge after CIAA backed off.
