Police arrest 7 for conducting online gambling games through crypto

Kathmandu: Police have arrested 7 people in charge of conducting online gambling games through illegal crypto.

The team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested those people from different places in Kathmandu and made them public on Tuesday. Crypto is illegal in the country.

All the arrested ones are from Siraha. Mithlesh Kumar Mandal (25 years old) from Siraha’s Lahan Municipality -10, Murali Shah( 24) of Patari Rural Municipality, Aryan Shah(24), Anish Kumar Rauniyar (24) and Roshan Chaudhary Jaiswal ( 26) from Lahan 1 Shahid Chowk.

Likewise, Hari Shankar Chaudhary (24) and  Shivam Kumar Yadav(23) from Siraha’s Sukipur Municipality -2 were also among the arrested ones.

They have been using crypto for conducting online gambling games like Milky Way, Game Vault, Fire Kirin, Vegas Sweeps, and Orion Stars. They used to create fake Facebook accounts in the name of foreign citizens.

Police said that the investigation regarding the actual transaction was going on.
