1st Tenzing Norgay Open Climbing Competition (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The one-day Tenzing Norgay Open Climbing Competition is going on.

The competition has been organized in memory of Nepal’s 1st  Mt. Everest climber Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

20 female and 38 male climbers above 12 participated in the climbing competition. The competition is going on at Crimpanji Adventure Hub, Mahankal, Bouddha.

The competition has been categorized into 3 rounds i.e. the qualifying round, the semi-final, and the final. The organizer said that each player must climb a certain distance within 3 minutes and would receive the points as per the performance. 16 climbers would enter the semifinal round. And, 8 climbers would compete in the final round.

Winners of the climbing competition, first runner up and second runner up will receive a cash prize of 15000 rupees, 10,000 rupees, and 5000 rupees respectively. They will also receive certificates.

The Nepal National Mountain Guide and the US Nepal Climber Association jointly organized the championship.
