PM Cup: Army defeats Karnali by 164 runs, Binod Bhandari’s century

Kathmandu: Tribhuvan Army Club has won the match against Karnali Province in the PM Cup National Cricket Tournament.

Army defeated Karnali by 164 runs in the T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Karnali failed to chase the target of 280 runs. Karnali was packed up in 29 overs and scored only 115 runs.

Himanshu Shahi scored 19 and Diwan Pun scored 18 runs for the team. Kushal Malla and Bibek Yadav took 3 wickets each for the team. Sompal Kami took 2 and Shahab Alam took 1 wicket for the Army.

In the first innings, Army scored 279 runs from 50 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Captain Binod Bhandari was unbeaten in 100 runs. He scored 100 runs from out of 132 balls by hitting 6 boundaries and 3 sixes for the team. This is the second century of Bhandari in the tournament. Earlier, Bhandari completed his first century against Madhesh Province.

Basir Ahmad was all beaten at 98 runs out of 92 balls by hitting 12 boundaries and 1 six. Dipendra Rawat took 2 wickets for Karnali. Prakash Jaishi, Dinesh Adhikari, and Diwan Pun took 1 wicket each for the team.

Likewise, Madhesh Province defeated Lumbini by 9 runs in the Mulpani Cricket Stadium.
