Police physically assault TIA Immigration Head

Kathmandu: Police have physically assaulted Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA) Immigration Office Head Gogan Bahadur Hamal.

Immigration Department Information Officer Prem Prasad Dahal informed Nepal Views that police personnel physically assaulted Hamal over a normal discussion. The TIA Police Personnel’s name has not been disclosed yet. Other Immigration Officials have also been assaulted.

According to a TIA source, an Assistant Inspector of Police assaulted Hamal. The misunderstanding between the customs officers and security personnel is increasing day by day.

Police have accused the Immigration Department of involving in dollar smuggling and even in the visit visa scandal. There has been a discussion between the customs official and the security personnel regarding the same subject.
