Kathmandu: Nepal has lost the match against New Zealand in the ICC U-19 World Cup.
New Zealand defeated Nepal by 64 runs in Buffalo Park, South Africa on Saturday.
Nepal failed to chase the target of 303 runs. The batting lineup of Nepal had a wobbling start with the loss of Deepak Bohora in the first over and Aakash Tripathi in 5.4 overs. But players slowly started to settle down and contribute their roles.
Nepal scored only 238 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Arjun Kumal scored 90 runs out of 104 balls by hitting 12 boundaries for Nepal. Arjun succeeded in presenting a decent competition for the ballers of New Zealand.
Captain Dev Khanal contributed 36 runs for the team. Subash Bhandari was unbeaten at 33 runs, Dipak Bohora scored 15, and Aakash Chand scored 14 runs.
Mason Clarke took 3 wickets for the Black Caps. Ewald Schreuder and Oscar Jackson took 2 wickets for the team.
In the first innings, New Zealand scored 302 runs in 50 overs with a loss of 8 wickets. Nepal bowlers fail to bowl as expected in front of the Blackcaps.
Snehith Reddy contributed to 147 runs hitting 6 sixes and 11 boundaries. Oscar Jackson added 75 runs, Tom Jones 33, and Alexander Thomas 13 runs.
Similarly, Subash Bhandari took 3 wickets for Nepal. Gulshan Jha took 2 wickets, Akash Tripathi, Dipesh Kandel, and Tilak Bhandari 1 wicket each.
