Police intervene in Aarti's self-immolation attempt at Supreme Court

Kathmandu: Police have intervened in the attempt of Aarati Giri, wife of Judge Bhuwan Giri, to self-immolate herself in the Supreme Court.

Aarati entered inside court as soon as the Chief Justice entered the Supreme Court. Aarti entered court wearing a white t-shirt that printed ‘ Justice or Death’ words in it. Police intervened and took Aarti under their control when she tried to self-immolate herself after sprinkling petrol over her body.

Earlier, she had thrown shoes on her husband Giri in the Kathmandu District Court. She filed a case of marital rape against her husband.
