Kathmandu District Court sentences 8 years of imprisonment to Sandeep Lamichhane

Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Court has sentenced 8 years imprisonment to National Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.
The court also decided 0. 5 million( 5 lakh) as the compensation. The single bench of Shishir Raj Dhakal gave the verdict of punishment to Lamichhane.
Dhakal’s single bench case found the former captain of the national cricket team guilty in the rape case on 29 December 2023 (Poush 13, 2080).
Lamichhane can appeal in the upper level of the court. There is less chance of Lamichhane being arrested immediately.
