Kathmandu: The ruling coalition’s meeting is going on to finalize the share of candidates in the upcoming National Assembly Election.
The leaders began their discussion in the early morning in Baluwatar. According to the PM Secretariat, the leaders from the Nepali Congress, CPN(Maoist Centre), CPN(Unified Socialist ), and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) were present in the meeting. The leaders of the ruling parties are present in the meeting.
There has been an agreement for all provinces except Bagmati and Gandaki as per the parties. The meeting of the leaders on Saturday failed to conclude after the big parties claimed maximum seats for the upcoming NA election. The meeting failed to conclude after CPN(Unified Socialist) sought its share in Gandaki and Pradesh province. The leaders participated in the meeting to reach an agreement as there is a schedule of registration of candidates on Monday.
The efforts are going to give 10 seats for the Nepali Congress, 6 to CPN (Maoist), 2 to CPN(Unified Socialists), and 1 seat for JSP.
The parties have not been able to choose their candidates due to the lack of agreement on the number of seats between the ruling coalition. National Assembly Election is scheduled to take place on 25 January 2024(Magh 11, 2080).
