40,000 cannabis plants destroyed

Kathmandu: The Nepal Police personnel have destroyed as many as 40,000 cannabis plants cultivated illegally at Baheda village of Yekdara Rural Municipality-5 in Mahottari district.
A team of police deployed on Thursday from the district police office destroyed the cannabis plants farmed in an area of almost four bighas of land, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Prakash Malla.
A team of 25 police personnel uprooted the cannabis plants acting on a tip-off, he said.
