Snowfall in Sandakpur area

Kathmandu: Snowfall has occurred in and around the Sandakpur area of upper Ilam.

Lakpa Sherpa, a local, informed that snowfall took place in the Jaubari and Kaalpokhari areas of Sandakpur rural municipality which shares a border with India. He said life here has been affected by the fall in temperature following snowfall.

Snowfall has started here since Thursday afternoon and has continued till now, it is shared. Sandakpur lies in the higher region of the district. It is at an altitude of 3,636 meters.

Though snowfall has affected normal life here, youths are seen making fun of snow. Tourists from other districts are seen heading to the area to enjoy the snowfall. The snowfall sites here are filled with domestic tourists, locals said.
