Ncell Share scandal discussion in 2 Parliamentary Committee

Kathmandu: Two Committees, under the House of Representatives, will discuss the Ncell share scandal.

The Finance Committee and Accounting Committee will be having the discussion. The Finance Committee is going on. And the accounting committee will start at 2:00 pm.

The Finance Committee is discussing the statistics and status of royalties and revenue received from telecommunication service providers and internet service with the Nepal Telecommunication Authority.

Likewise, The Accounting Committee already asked for  9 questions to the Department of Internal Revenue, Nepal Telecommunication Authority and Registrar Companies Office regarding purchase and sale share of Axiata Group in Ncell.

Government decided to form investigation committee to find out the truth about the financial transactions regarding the Ncell share. The pressure to investigate the case increased as Ncell is one of the most profitable company in the country.

Government was pressurized after the telecommunication service provider company Ncell Axiata Limited sold the project ,with a value of 143 billion, sold  it for 6 billion .

A huge point of suspicious has arised as Axiata sold the share of Ncell for just 6 billion. Axiata had bought the share at 143 billion. There were also rumors of the Ncell’s local partner buying the shares in crore and conducting tax evasion.
