Karnali Police prohibited to use mobile phones during duty hours

Surkhet: Karnali Province and Subordinate police officials have been prohibited from using mobile phones during duty hours.

The prohibition rule came into effect to create a favorable environment for employees working in highly sensitive areas to only focus on their assigned tasks and complete their responsibilities.

According to Chief and Deputy Inspector of General Police, Bhim Dhakal said that the prohibition rule would not be implemented in the case of the Team Commander. The prohibition rule has been made to make supervision more effective in responsibility-assigned areas so that citizens can effectively feel a sense of security.

DIG Dhakal said, ‘Without using mobile phones the surveillance and investigation of the criminal cases will become more effective, police employees will not misuse social media, and personal mobile phone expenses will be controlled. We have expected to win the trust of people with this policy.’

Karnali Province Police Office has sent letters to the respective offices including subordinate districts, battalion, training centers, district police stations, etc. mentioning not to use/carry mobile phones. The province police office has made arrangements for effective briefing and monitoring of the proper implementation of the rule.
