Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Administration Office has responded to the announcement of Durga Prasai to protest in Tinkune.
The Office said that Parsai was not allowed to conduct his demonstration of the ‘Save Nationals’ Campaign in Tinkune. Prasai held a conference on Thursday evening. He announced that his group would gather in Tinkune and go to Singhadurabr and Politicians’ houses and protest in “Srilankan Style”. However, the Office said that Prasai and his group were not permitted to protest in Tinkune.
Assistant Kathmandu Administration Officer Ravindra Prasad Acharya, through a Press release, warned to take action as per the law if any kinds of activities affecting peace and security were reported. However, the Office mentions providing security for peaceful protest if provided a written application along with coordination of organizations and security force.
The office even mentioned that the police were compelled to use tear gas and water cannons on protestors, as they were entering the restricted area, attacking the security personnel and spreading violence.
