Durga Prasai files habeas corpus case in Supreme Court

Kathmandu: The controversial businessman Durga Prasai has filed a complaint case in the Supreme Court.

Prasai, who was under house arrest in his residence in Sanothimi, has filed a habeas corpus case in court. The writ petition claims that his house arrest was the suppression of fundamental rights, which violated the right to freedom of expression of thought provided by Constitution Article 17.

Advocate Surendra Paudel filed the case for Prasai. The hearing of the case will be on Sunday.

Prasai initiated the ‘Save Nationals’ campaign in Balkhu on Thursday. But, as he was kept under house arrest today, he was unable to participate in the campaign.
