Corruption case against Chitwan National Parks’ 12 officials

Kathmandu: A complaint case has been filed against Chitwan Chitwan National Park’s 12 officials including assistant conservation officer Abhinaya Pathak and other 12.

The Commission for Investigation Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case against 12 people in the Special Court. They have been accused of corruption while investing in building construction and damaging public property.

Khairani Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Purushottam Sharma, Engineer Rajesh Koirala, Sub-Engineer Suman Shrestha, Forest Consumers group, and the then Chairman of Concrete Scaffolding Committee Hira Bahadur Gurung are among the arrested ones.

Likewise, Then Treasurer of the Forest Consumers Group Sambhu G.C., Chairperson of Forest Consumers Group Ganesh Kumar Shrestha, and Treasurer Ujwal Bartaula , Chairman of Consumer Committee Narayan Dutt Timilsina. Similarly Treasurer Som Raj Kadaria , Treasurer of the Consumer Committee Sita Dahal and Secretary Kalyan Latoul .

They have been accused of corruption in constructing a view tower with 16 rooms in the core area of the park.
