Writ petition against Kathmandu District Administration decision in Supreme Court

Kathmandu: A writ petition has been filed against Kathmandu District Administration’s protest restriction decision at Maitighar Mandala.

KTM Administration, starting on Monday, announced restrictions for  30 days in the Maitighar – Baneshwor area.

Advocate Swagat Nepal filed the writ petition against the administration’s decision on Tuesday. He filed the writ demanding the government to step back from the decision as it was suppressing the rights of citizens of peaceful protest.

The primitive hearing upon the writ has been scheduled for Wednesday.

Kathmandu District Chief District Officer Jitendra Basnet announced Maitighar-Baneshwor as a restricted area as per the recommendation of the District Security Committee.
