Kathmandu District Administration refuses to permit protests in Maitighar

Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Administration Office has decided not to allow the Youth Union and Durga Prasain to protest on 23 November( Mangsir 7).

Kathmandu’s Assistant Chief District Officer Rabindra Prasad Acharya said that both of them arrived at the Office seeking permission to protest but were suggested to seek alternatives to Maitighar. He said that prohibition could be imposed at Maitighar if required.

The administration prohibited Prasai and Basnet’s protest at Maitighar pointing out the security reasons. Businessman Durga Prasai and Youth Union Chairperson Mahesh Basnet announced organizing a protest program on the same day at Maitighar. It was more of an open challenge by clashing their protest on the same day.
