CAN appeals government to rethink decision to ban TikTok

Kathmandu: The Computer Association Nepal Federation(CAN) has appealed to the government to bring TikTok under the scope of tax.

CAN  believes that TikTok would help the country’s economy if it can operate and regulate in a commercial environment.

CAN mentioned in its press release that it would be appropriate to regulate TikTok as it has become a platform for small and medium business people to expand their business. CAN even requested the government to rethink its decision as the development of Information and Communication Technology comes along with both opportunities and Challenges.

‘CAN has requested the government to coordinate and discuss with experts regarding the proper use of all social media available in Nepal. We are ready to hold any technical collaboration with the government for the welfare of the private sector,’ mentions the press release. CAN has expressed commitment to creating Digital Nepal.
