KMC’s initiation: Abandoned cattle from street to Kanji House

Kathmandu: Kathmandu Metropolitan City(KMC) has made an initiation to manage the abandoned cattle.

Kathmandu’s Mayor Balendra Shah Balen informed, through his social media, about keeping stray cattle in Dakshinkali Municipality -7 based Kopugaon’s Kanji House from November 9( Karthik 23).

KMC Mayor Shah said,’ Abandoned cattle are not getting regular food. They are deprived of water when thirsty and treatment when ill. There is also the risk of vehicle accidents. To save them from such accidents, we are taking those cattle to the Kanji House.’

Mayor Shah said that 10 metric tons of Silage was arranged for feeding cattle, and 2 local daily wage workers were recruited for caretaking cattle. KMC has collaborated with Dakshinkali Municipality-7 to provide water, electricity, and other facilities to the Kanji House.
